About Us

Hi. I’m Amy. And I love willow.

I have been a maker my whole life, but just discovered basket willow in 2019.

I have made it my aim to grow basket willow and to understand it to the best of my ability—its growth habits, its uses, how to artfully shape it into vessels and objects, fencing and buildings. There is so much to learn from this plant in the flexibility both of its branches and of its purpose. Willow doesn’t need a champion, but it nevertheless has one in me.

I likewise make it my goal to say “yes” to any making challenge that comes my way—most especially those that can be accomplished using resources that can be found on my family’s farm in North Bend, OH. And I want to share whatever knowledge I gain with those interested in learning.

Life seeks life and loves life. The opening of a catkin of a willow, in the flight of the butterfly, in the chirping of a tree-toad or the sweep of an eagle - my life loves to see how others live, exults in their joy, and so far is partner in their great concern.
